Dr. Elizabeth Potter D.O.

Dr. Elizabeth Potter D.O.

I am a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins College of Medicine. I study how psychopharmacology, genetics, neurobiology and cognitive beliefs interact to exacerbate or improve psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and psychosis. While my Neuroscience background is relevant to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, my current focus is working with evolving Psychiatric medication and technology protocols. I enjoy collaborating with psychotherapists and other professionals to improve the mental health and quality of life of my patients.

I share a love of theater, dance, classical music, opera, movies, and Broadway musicals with my husband, Tony Guzman, former associate editor and performing arts critic for The Miami Sunpost newspaper. Originally from Chicago, and New York City, respectively, we have enjoyed living in Florida for more than 25 years, and we also enjoy exploring the world at large through international travel. I believe that continued lifelong learning and growth is important to keeping a youthful outlook, as I dedicate myself to improving the mental health and life skills of my patients.
